Theater District Accommodations

Hotel V Nesplein offers 43 rooms ranging from compact Comfort Rooms to spacious Suites. All feature vintage furniture, central air-conditioning, Auping beds, and wooden floors. Bathrooms include rain showers, Etika toiletries, and some have bathtubs. Certain rooms have seating areas with sofas or armchairs. Rooms facing Nesplein square may hear street conversations during summer months.

Local Dining Experience

The Lobby restaurant and bar serves European cuisine with Amsterdam influences, using seasonal ingredients from local producers. Breakfast is à la carte with options including eggs Benedict and full English, served from 07:00 to 10:30. The open kitchen fills the ground floor with cooking aromas. Room service operates from 12:00 to 22:00 most days, with reduced hours on Sundays and Mondays.

Historic Central Location

Located at Nes 49 in the Jordaan district, the hotel sits on a street with multiple non-mainstream theaters, 450 meters from Amsterdam Central Station. It's surrounded by the Dam Square, Nieuwmarkt, Zeedijk, and the 9 Straatjes area. The red-light district begins nearby. Q-park Nieuwendijk parking is available 200 meters from the hotel.

Amsterdam-Savvy Service

Staff provide genuine local advice on attractions and dining. Services include laundry with same-day return if delivered before 9:00 AM, valet parking assistance, and 24-hour front desk. The hotel collaborates with local businesses for gym access. Safety features include carbon monoxide detectors, fire extinguishers, and window guards.

Theater-Inspired Design

The hotel occupies a converted office building featuring vintage theater posters on walls, a proscenium-arch bar design, and a dramatic golden chandelier in the lobby. Bronze walls and stairways display copies of black-and-white show posters. The ground floor includes a small library area and a terrace with newspapers available.

“In my opinion, this is a well-situated hotel for exploring central Amsterdam, with Dam Square just a short walk away. I noted the modern, comfortable rooms and the popularity of the in-house restaurant with locals and travelers. I also appreciated the hotel's eco-conscious approach.”

I found the location PRIME for walking everywhere. The hotel itself is very nice. It is VERY quiet, and the front desk staff was GREAT. I enjoyed that I could pick dishes from the breakfast menu.
The window in my room looked over a nearby office building. It was so close!
